About Me

​Hi!  I'm Rachel, and I'm the girl in a bookstore.  I've long loved books since I was a child, and the bubbling excitement I feel around travel to anywhere is deep within my DNA.  So a blog about combining adventurous travel and literary enlightenment is a natural for me.

I laugh often and love trying new foods of every kind!  I'll take on almost any challenge and have a fierce desire to explore the unseen.  My optimistic nature finds friends far and wide, and I confess to an overwhelming love of beauty, fashion, and shoes!  I earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master's degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University.  I also studied at Georgetown University law school (though didn't become a lawyer).  My travel blog originated through a generous Individual Artist Fellowship awarded by the Indy Arts Council and funded by the Lily Endowment, for which I have deep gratitude.
